Willie Floyd's 1st Birthday!

On Monday we celebrated Willie's 1st birthday!  It's hard to believe he is already 1.  Dora has always had McDonalds on her birthday, so we continued that tradition and Willie and Dora each got a McChicken.  He was a happy pup!

It's like she knew something delicious was coming...

My baby boy!

He's kind of a fatty.

After dinner Tim and I put together the glider for the nursery, so birthday boy got to be the first to take it for a test drive.

Spoiled

We have a really fun weekend planned!  Tomorrow I have my first baby shower and Sunday morning we have our maternity photo session!  Sunday afternoon we are hosting Tim's family to watch the Super Bowl and celebrate his brother's birthday.  Happy Friday!

Wedding Slideshow

Last weekend my dad mentioned how special the day I was born was to him, and it made me want to watch this slideshow again to see pictures from that day.  Tim and I created it to share at our wedding reception and I'm so glad we have it!  It's so fun to see Tim grow up, then me, then the beginning of our journey together, and I'm looking forward to sharing all these experiences with our daughter.  I pretty much lost it when the pictures of my parents and baby me came up.  That's going to be us soon!!!

33 Weeks!

This week I am 33 weeks pregnant! Baby is about 17.2" long and weighs about 4.2lbs!  Olivia should now be keeping her eyes open while she is awake and coordinating breathing with sucking and swallowing.

My short torso is getting CROWDED!  It seems like my belly has been getting bigger every day.  At our appointment on Thursday our doctor confirmed that baby girl is in a head down position!  That would explain why I'm feeling those powerful movements up by my ribs and smaller movements down in my abdomen.  Hopefully she will stay that way so she will be ready when the time comes.  I've read this is likely, as there isn't much room to flip over anymore and babies' heads are most comfortable down low.  My uterus is crowding my lungs and I get out of breath really quickly.  When I lie on my back everything kind of shifts up and makes it even harder to breath.  Our doctor said soon Olivia will drop and I'll be able to breath, but not walk.  Oh, the joys of pregnancy :)

I've been having Braxton Hicks contractions for the past few weeks.  They are getting increasingly uncomfortable, but don't hurt and help to prepare my body for the real thing.  We have made a bunch of progress on her nursery, which has been so much fun!  I love spending time in her room.  Tim and I are so excited to welcome Olivia and are getting more and more anxious for her arrival!

33 weeks!

Sunriver 2014

Last Friday we headed to Sunriver for a short, much needed vacation with my family, which is something we have been doing each year for the past 15 or so years.  In addition to Tim's full time job, he referees wrestling some evenings and most Saturdays.  On his days off he's been doing projects around the house.  I've been in crazy nesting mode and always feel like I need to be doing something at home, so this lazy vacation was good for both of us.  We went to Bend to eat at Deschutes Brewery and visit Powell's Sweet Shoppe (which is amazing!), walked around Sunriver, enjoyed delicious food at Sunriver Brewery, watched football, and played lots of games.  I had a great time, but have to admit that I was ready to get home to my animals and Olivia's nursery (I'm incapable of relaxing these days).  We are looking forward to taking Olivia on her first Sunriver trip next year!

32 Weeks!

This week I am 32 weeks pregnant! Baby is about 16.7" long and weighs about 3.8lbs! I can't believe how big she is getting!  Seems like just yesterday she was my teeny tiny Peanut (but at the same time, it feels like I've been pregnant forever...).  She is likely in the head down position now, and feeling pretty cramped.  We have our 32 week appointment tomorrow (late this week since we were out of town), and I'm sure he will tell us if she has figured out which way is down.

Until a few weeks ago, I only felt Olivia's movements at the very bottom of my abdomen, which included lots of kicks to my bladder.  The past few weeks I've been feeling movement down low and up by my ribs.  These movements are super easy for me to feel from the outside.  Tim has been able to feel her move more often (although it seems when he rests his hands on my belly, sneaky Liv calms down).  I can also see her moving around, which is pretty crazy!  It's been very different to rest my hand on my belly and feel a jab or feel her turn, and although her movements sometimes startle me or hurt a little, I've been enjoying feeling my active baby.

Vacation!!!

Today we are heading to Sunriver for 4 nights!  Tim and I are looking forward to a much needed break and lots of rest.  When we get back we have a long list of things to do and less than 2 months to get everything done!

We got Olivia's changing table put together :)  It was a royal pain, but I really like it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

31 Weeks!!

This week I am 31 weeks pregnant!  Baby is about 16.2" long and weighs about 3.3 lbs!  All 5 of Olivia's senses are now in working order.  Her irises react to light and she is getting smarter and smarter as brain development continues.

I am getting more anxious and more excited as each day goes by!  I have been filling my time organizing our house and getting everything clean and ready to bring Olivia home.  Her crib is already put together and her changing table and dresser are supposed to be arriving this week, so then I will have space for all the things we have been collecting.  I picked up these super sweet shoes at Fred Meyer this weekend.  She will probably only wear them once or twice, but we are planning on using them for our maternity photos.

Baby Shower for Trish

On Saturday Marissa and I hosted a baby shower for our cousin, Trish!  Baby Owen is due February 21, which also happens to be Trish's birthday!  She and I are due just 3 weeks apart, and both on our birthdays.  How crazy is that?!?  Trish and I have always been close, so having babies so close together is going to be so fun! She is already Mom to Aiden, who turns 4 in January. I am looking forward to Marissa, Trish and I all having kiddos!

Trish wanted something low-key and relaxed, so that's what we did!  We had pizza for dinner and cupcakes and cheesecake for dessert.  It turned out great and she got a lot of cute things!  I'm just disappointed that we didn't get some pictures of her.  I had planned on it, but obviously spaced it.  I've been meaning to get a picture with her and our baby bumps, too.  There's still time though.

Presents for Owen

I bet his daddy will love this football
sleep and play!

Just 6 weeks to go until baby boy's due date!  I'm so excited for Trish, Greg, and Aiden and can't wait to meet Owen!

30 Weeks!!

This week I am 30 weeks pregnant!  Baby is about 15.7" long and weighs about 2.9 lbs! Olivia is now strong enough to grasp a finger and I am looking forward to being able to hold her little tiny hands.  I remember how wonderful it was when my niece and nephew would hold onto my fingers when they were tiny babes.  It's so crazy thinking about how big and strong she is getting!  We are only 10 weeks away from her due date, and it is starting to feel more and more real.

We had our 30 week appointment this morning.  My blood pressure is great, my doctor is really pleased with my weight, and baby girl is growing right on track!  I will admit that I'm starting to get a bit anxious.  I'm really hoping to not have a c-section, but we talked about them today and I know that if I have to have one, it's because that's what has to happen for baby girl to arrive safely.  I'm not really scared to give birth, I'm just anxious about going into labor, not knowing when it will happen, and hoping that everything goes well for Olivia and I.  I'm a control freak, and these are things I can't control.  I am ready for March to get here and for our baby girl to arrive safe and healthy.  New carpet is going in TODAY, so now I will be able to work on her nursery, which I think will help keep me busy and pass the time.

Tim and I are so happy with our doctor!  He is nice, patient, and we get the impression that he really knows what he is doing.  After he checks everything he needs to check, he takes the time to answer any questions we have.  I usually have a list (control freak), and he takes the time to discuss them and when I run out, he's asking what else I'd like to talk about.  We never feel rushed.  I'm so glad we are comfortable with our doctor and trust his decisions.

Just 10 weeks to go!!

Happy 2014!!

Happy 2014!  I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year's Eve.  Ours was pretty low-key this year, but I was able to stay awake until midnight so I'd say it was a success!

2013 was a crazy year for us.  The first 6 months were spent dealing with fertility treatments and my surgery, but the last 6 months were spent preparing for our baby.  Right in the middle, we had that exciting news that changed everything, and we are looking forward to what 2014 has in store for us!

Mostly I'm excited to meet this little lady:

with this handsome guy at my side:

Yep, 2014 is gonna be a good one :)
