Pretzel Bites

I've never been much of a cook.  I don't particularly like it and I'm not particularly good at it either (which probably has to do with the fact that I have very little practice).  Tim is a great cook and usually has dinner started before I get home from work, but we have fallen into a pattern of making the same dishes over and over again.  While pasta, fish, turkey burgers and burritos are delicious, I've been wanting to try some new recipes and add some variety to our menu.  I always see delicious looking recipes while browsing blogs and decided to start with these pretzel bites.  Not that I would serve this for dinner, but I don't like putting much effort into cooking, either, so I figured a delicious snack was a good place to start.  Up next is probably a dessert.  Ok, eventually, maybe, we will try something new for dinner.

Get the recipe here (pretty sure this is my new favorite blog).

Tastes like Auntie Anne's!

I sprinkled a little garlic powder on mine
and had them with cream cheese

Tip: if you aren't going to eat them all right away, save the rest of the dough to bake later.  They were much better fresh!

These were super cheap to make and super delicious.  We used all purpose flour instead of bread flour.  I'm thinking they will make a great snack during football season!  Bonus: it was pretty fun making these with Tim.

Baby Giggles

A few weeks ago we heard Olivia's first laugh!  She's still learning, but we are hearing her giggles more frequently and it is so much fun!  Don't mind the crazy parents in the background...

It doesn't get much better than seeing my baby happy!

Pacific City 2014

We spent the weekend in Pacific City with my family and had a great time!  We have been going to Pacific City every year for a while now.  It was Olivia's first "camping" trip!  I can't wait to go on more trips this summer and back to Pacific City next year.

3 Months!

On Friday Olivia turned 3 months old! Olivia has been talking all the time, smiling, and is just starting to laugh.  Occasionally we get lucky and she sleeps through the night!  This week we are starting to transition to 3-6 month clothes (her tiny feet are still newborn size though!).  I can't believe how big she is getting!

I tried to capture one of her big smiles, but she's
too distracted by everything these days!

She's getting better at using her hands!
Everything she grabs goes straight to her mouth

Liv and I went golfing for the first time with Daddy and Rory.
She slept in her stroller the whole time

Trying out her sunglasses :)

Play time!

My beautiful babe

I have lots of pictures of Olivia sleeping.  It's just easiest to take pictures when she is sleeping, especially since she gets so distracted by my phone and the camera.  Plus she's just so precious while she sleeps!  Life with Olivia is getting more and more fun!

Weekend Celebrations

This weekend we have a lot of celebrating to do!

It's this guy's first Father's Day!  Such a good daddy <3

We will also be celebrating Father's Day with this guy!  Amazing Dad, Father-in-law AND Grandpa.  And it's his birthday tomorrow!

We also have a friend's wedding to attend and my grandpa's birthday to celebrate.  Today Olivia turns 3 MONTHS OLD!  I can't believe how big she is getting!  I think we can also celebrate the fact that I survived my first full week back at work (or at least I plan on surviving, we will see if I make it through the day).

Happy birthday, happy Father's Day, and congratulations!

Back to Work

Tomorrow I head back to work after 12 wonderful weeks at home with Olivia, and I had no idea it would be this hard.  I always planned on returning to work, and that is what I am going to do.  The thing I misjudged was how hard that decision was going to be.  I knew I would love taking care of Olivia, and I do love it, but that's not the only responsibility of a stay at home mom.  I didn't realize how much I would love not only taking care of Olivia, but our home, and I think I got pretty good at it.  So it is with a heavy, but very full heart that I will return to work.

There are many opportunities I had growing up that I want to provide for Olivia.  There are so many adventures I want to have with her.  I am going to show her that she can have a career and a family, and then I am going to tell her how much I loved being at home with her, and how hard it was for me to return to work.  I hope that my daughter has all the opportunities I have had, and I will do the best I can to provide those for her.

I'm so lucky to have a husband that supported my decision either way.  I know that Olivia will be well taken care of with her aunt, Marissa, and will enjoy playing with her cousins and the other kids at Happy Owls.

She had lots to say today!

Liv, I love you more than you know and the best part of my day will always be coming home to you and Daddy.
