Birthdays and Babes

Happy 3rd birthday to my lovely niece, Nola Belle!  It's so hard to believe she is 3 already!  She is so smart and sweet.  This girl is going places.
Such a beauty!

3 years ago today!  What a wonderful experience to
get to witness her birth.

My cousin's baby, Owen, was born yesterday!  7lbs 3oz and 19.5" of perfect cuteness!  It was so fun to visit them last night, and a little bit surreal knowing that would be us soon.  Congrats to Trish, Greg, and Aiden on the new addition to their family!

And since I haven't shared any pictures of Willie this week, here's my baby boy snuggling in my lap last night :)
Love him <3

Tonight we are celebrating Nola's birthday, and tomorrow Tim and I will be helping our roommate, Rory, celebrate his birthday.  Oh, and tomorrow is MARCH!!  Our baby will be born in March!  So exciting!!!!  Happy Friday!

37 Weeks!

This week I am 37 weeks pregnant and we are full term! Baby is about 19.1" long and weighs about 6.3lbs! Well, that's the average.  More on that below... Olivia's crucial functions should be developed now and she is spending her time practicing inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping, and blinking.

We had our 37 week check up today, and this week my bump was measuring big.  The doctor poked and prodded my belly to get an idea of what's going on in there, and he's guessing that she might already be 8 pounds!  We have an ultrasound tomorrow to get a better idea of how big she actually is.  He said he could be wrong, but he definitely doesn't think she's a small baby.  Up until this week I had been measuring average.  I had also been gaining back the weight I lost the first half of my pregnancy at a rate of about a half a pound a week and had just got back to my pre-pregnancy weight.  This week I gained 2 pounds!  I guess she had a growth spurt...

Everything else is looking normal, so we are thankful for that.  I've been having a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions and they are getting stronger.  I've also been having some pains in my legs, which might be caused by my little chunk resting on nerves.  We are excited to see our baby tomorrow, and hoping she isn't even bigger than the doctor thinks!

We got a lot done around the house this weekend, but I feel like there's still a lot left to do in the next couple of weeks.  We had our third baby shower on Thursday, thrown by Tim's coworkers, and then Thursday evening we went shopping at Target to use our gift cards and get the rest of the baby things we needed/wanted.  We got a lot of great stuff and I feel like we are really ready now!

Our weekend project.  Notice the monkey in the booster seat
on the floor... Nola visited!

Nola "helped" me in the nursery on Saturday.  She
loves looking at all the baby stuff and enjoyed
going through all the gifts we received.

37 weeks!

Fingers crossed Olivia decides to make her appearance soon!  The doctor said she is good to go, and it seems she is plenty big!

Olivia's Nursery

Olivia's nursery is ready for her arrival!  I love the way it turned out, and I am so excited to be able to enjoy it with her!  It's a pretty good sized space and we fit a lot into it, but by keeping things against the walls it still feels nice and open and there will be room for her to play once she gets a little older.  I can't believe how much stuff we have for her!  Can you spot any monkeys? :)

I love this chair!  We already had the twin bed,
and chose to leave it instead of finding a place to store it.

I love her crib.  And her changing table.  And everything else.

I have her 0-6 month clothes hung and ready and bigger sizes boxed up.
We will put the closet doors back up eventually, although it has been
convenient without them.

Ready to change diapers!

Lots of stuffed friends, books and toys!

We are ready for you, Olivia!

36 Weeks!

This week I am 36 weeks pregnant!  Baby is about 18.7" long and weighs about 5.8lbs!  Olivia's liver and kidneys should be in working order, and her circulation and immune systems should be ready.  Her lungs still need to get stronger and she will continue to put on fat to keep her warm once she gets here.

We had our 36 week check up today.  Everything is still looking good, and baby girl is still in the head down position.  She will likely stay that way, since there isn't much room for her to do a full flip, and the doctor thinks she is facing back as well, so hopefully she is comfy and will stay that way!  We are far enough along now that if I were to go into labor, they wouldn't try to stop it.

I am getting really anxious!  This pregnancy business is hard for my control freak self.  When will she arrive?  What will going into labor feel like?  Will our baby be healthy?  I am just ready for it to be March, and for her to arrive so I can hold her in my arms.  Being patient is no fun.  I had my second baby shower this weekend, hosted by Tim's mom and sister.  It was a lot of fun and we received some great presents.  We are almost done with the nursery, just a few more finishing touches and getting all of the gifts washed and put away.  Less than 4 weeks to go, and we are so excited!!!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Tim is refereeing wrestling tonight, so we went out to dinner last night to celebrate Valentine's Day.  It is becoming a tradition of ours to go to Christo's.  It was delicious, as it always is, and we enjoyed a night out!

Our 3rd Valentine's Day!

And happy birthday to my grandma and Dora!  Dora and Willie will get to celebrate her birthday tonight, and tomorrow we will be taking my grandma to dinner.

Who's 5 years old and wants a McChicken?

This girl.

I'm also excited for my 2nd baby shower this weekend!  Lot's of celebrating this week!

Happy Valentine's Day!

35 Weeks!

This week I am 35 weeks pregnant!  Baby is about 18.2" long and weighs about 5.3lbs!  For the remainder of the pregnancy, Olivia will be getting stronger, smarter, and plumping up!

Olivia has been getting hiccups almost every day now!  It is definitely funny to feel.  Sleep is getting harder and harder.  My heavy baby bump makes it nearly impossible to get comfortable.  I've been getting calf pains more often, so I've been trying to remember to stretch them out before I go to bed.  If I don't catch them early, those suckers hurt!

This weekend Tim and I did quite a bit of work in Olivia's nursery.  Things are coming together!  I'm excited to get things finished up.  We also got her Pack 'n Play put together in our room, where she will sleep for the first month or so, so we are ready to bring her home!  We also have our hospital bag packed now.  Only 5 weeks to go!

This happened when Nola visited on Saturday.  Olivia's monkey friend got to take a nap in the Pack 'n Play and then got to ride in the swing.  Nola absolutely loves all the baby stuff.

I think she might be starting to drop! My bladder would agree.
35 weeks!

A Request For My Daughter

Dear Olivia,

I bought you this onesie.  St. Paddy's Day is March 17th, and if you could please be here by then, I would appreciate it.  Because I paid, like, $5 for this.  Bonus points for red hair.

Love,
Mom

34 Weeks!

This week I am 34 weeks pregnant!  We are half way through the third trimester!!  Baby is about 17.7" long and weighs about 4.7lbs!  We've been singing lullabies to her because she should be able to hear them and when she is born, she should recognize them.

We had our 34 week appointment this morning, and everything seems to be on track!  The size estimates I give each week are based on a chart of averages, and today the doctor said that he thinks baby girl's size is right on track.  I talked to him about the headaches I get when I don't eat constantly, and he said that they are not a problem and to just keep doing what I'm doing.  This weekend I set reminders in my phone every hour to have a snack, and that seemed to help, although it sure does get annoying to have to eat all the time, even when I'm not feeling hungry.  Better than headaches, though.

Sleep seems pretty impossible these days.  Between trying to get comfortable with my big belly, the anxiety I'm starting to have as we get closer, and having to pee all the time, I'm not able to get much sleep.  Hopefully Olivia is a good sleeper so I will be able to get more after she arrives.  If not, at least I'll be prepared!

34 weeks!
